sightings from the stands: djokovic d. moya

by

The second set of men’s quarterfinal matches at the 2007 U.S. Open happened yesterday with the on-fire David Ferrer beating Juan Ignacio “El Flaco” Chela 6-2, 6-3, 7-5; and Novak Djokovic downing 31-year-old Carlos Moya 6-4, 7-6 (7), 6-1.

At the Nole-Moya match, in the stands:

Candice Bergen with husband Marshall Rose, and 30 Rock‘s Alec Baldwin. (That show’s season premiere is set for October 4. I can’t wait!)

And is it just me, or was Carlos the only one who rocked the Nike Global Power Sleeveless shirt?

    rafa did as well

  2. Erwin Says:

I meant “of the men who didn’t have their clothes custom-made for them…”

but yes, Rafa looked good, too.

  3. Nez Says:

apart from federer… are there any other male players that have outfits especially made for that player? like federer’s black nike outfit?

  4. Erwin Says:

Not sure how it worked, but Rafa’s the only one sporting the pirate pants.

    Maybe Volandri’s D&G from Wimbledon?

  5. Nez Says:

maybe volandri just picks out clothes from italian designers… D&G for wimby and Emporio for fmeadows.

fashion in tennis has become so much more focused on in the womens tour but lacks in the mens. as it has been mentioned here Nike has been neglecting the majority of the players that sport their attire. focusing mainly on sharapova and serena with their dresses and federer in his vader attire. im sure a lot of the players are fashionably switched on and when they are off court, they all look stunning. you can see all their different personalities through their style. so wouldnt it be a little disappointing they cannot replicate that on the court? maybe some of the other top ten players deserve to be kitted out in something different? not just fed?

although it would be nice to see some high end labels sponsoring more players. im a big fan of D&G so if they decide to release a tennis range… im definitely in! :)
