Not entirely sure why Jesse Levine‘s Australian Open wild card was so underreported, especially since U.S. tennis darling John Isner was vying for the spot (along with Levine, Wayne Odesnik, and Alex Kuznetsov). Is it because we all in protest because the USTA couldn’t give the WC to the too-old Robby Ginepri? It worked out for the best anyway; Ginepri, who was already down south for this week’s Medibank International in Sydney, had to retire from his qualifying match against Alberto Martin.
Congrats, Jesse. We hope you’ll make some noise Down Under. (And pat on the back to his female counterpart, Madison Brengle.)
Also, I noticed that I posted the wrong link to Jon Henderson‘s blog post on Andy Murray. If you got directed to a fluff piece about Steffi Graf and Justine Henin, I’m sorry. I’ve fixed the mistake on the original post, but you can also get to Henderson’s article here.
