Sequined bunnies showed up for Vera Zvonareva‘s presser on the eve of the 2011 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. Buy: A similar Bad Bunny Sweatshirt, $59.99, from French Connection.
Fed Cup: Vera is on the Russian Fed Cup team that faces Italy in this weekend’s semi, to be played in Moscow. Others on the Russian squad: Kuznetsova, Pavlyuchenkova, and Makarova. On the Italian side, they’ll be without Fed Cup regulars Schiavone and Pennetta. Schiavone opted out in order to focus on defending her Roland Garros title; Pennetta’s nursing a shoulder injury. The roster’s made up of Vinci, Errani, Brianti, and Camerin. The Russians should take this, no prob. What do you think?

Ivan Ljubicic gets past the second round of an ATP event for the first time since early February with his upset of 12th-seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the second round of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters. Up next for the Croat is fifth seed Tomas Berdych; they’re both in Nadal‘s quarter.
That Li Ning green makes him blend in with the background. Maybe ninja stealth is the way to success? FYI, Ljubicic is now ranked 40th in the world. Yikes.

Masochists can also pick up the half-baked shirt currently on Feli Lopez. They also have headbands, wristbands, and the rest of the Joma offerings.
Monte-Carlo: At this week’s clay event in Monte-Carlo, both Lopez and Granollers lost in all-Spanish beatdowns, with Granollers going down to Nicolas Almagro in the first and Feli bowing out to fourth seed Ferrer in the second round. Draw: See how the rest of the men are faring here.

A close-up of another tattoo on tennis bad boy Daniel Kollerer. Written on his shoulder is the phrase “La Mano Destra Di Dio” — the right hand of god. (Flashback Here’s the one on his forearm.)
This year, the ATP website lists him as having played only one tournament (and winning it!) — a futures event in Turkey last month.

No frills: The men of Lacoste are dressed in simple, solid colors for their clay runs. At this week’s Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, Milos Raonic won the second-round battle of the messy ‘dos between him and Ernests Gulbis and next faces the winner of Feli/Ferrer; that’s all in the same quarter as Verdasco (and the same half as Federer). On the other side, Gasquet faces GG Lopez and a potentially third-rounder against top seed Nadal. (Draw: Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters)

Two — no three! — reasons to love Serena: She wore this. She referred to herself in the third person (see below). And she shared all of it with the world. Welcome back, Rere.
Sweet success: American Ryan Sweeting won his first-ever ATP title yesterday, capping a great week in Houston by beating Kei Nishikori in the final of the U.S. Men’s Claycourt Championships, 6-4, 7-6 (3). After his victory, Sweet took a little celebratory swim.
Moving up: Sweeting’s win vaults him from no. 93 in the world to no. 67, the biggest leap of any top 100 player this week.
Chasing Charleston: While defending champ Samantha Stosur continued to sputter, world no. 1 Caroline Wozniacki had a solid week, including a this-should-be-the-final win over former world no. 1 Jelena Jankovic in the semis. Woz actually took out Russian Elena Vesnina in the title match, winning 6-2, 6-3 for the green clay vcitory.
After the cut: Vika wins in Spain and a Spaniard takes Casablanca. (more…)
Nothing too crazy about the pink/white Erke kit on Yanina Wickmayer this year. She’s worn both a tank and a short-sleeved top, and in the last month switched up her black drop earrings for these huge pink balls. Fun times.
Tennis: Yanina’s ranked 23rd on the WTA list, buoyed by a trip to the final of the ASB Classic, a semifinal appearance at Indian Wells, and making the quarters of the Open GDF Suez and last week’s Family Circle Cup.
Buy: Similar fluffy pink earrings available in a few styles at etsy.com.

If everything is bigger in Texas, this may as well be one of the biggest moments of Andy Roddick‘s life. The announcement a couple weeks ago that his adopted hometown of Austin, Texas, will host the Davis Cup quarterfinal between the U.S. and Spain on July 8-10 this summer potentially pits Roddick against Rafael Nadal in a showdown that could be one of the highlights of the American’s career.
Roddick and others were buzzing this past week when the USTA pre-sale tickets went on sale (80 percent of the entire venue) for the event at the Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas and sold out with two hours – America seems to be pretty pumped, too.
General tickets went on sale yesterday, with prices ranging from $90 to $500 for weekend tickets. Last time these two squads met on American soil it was the U.S. who prevailed – but the Spaniards were without Rafa. So what about this time? Will Roddick pull out an epic win? How important do you think this tie is? Tell us in the comment section!

Jelena Jankovic left the orange in Miami, opting for green floral print to start off her spring clay campaign.
Draw: At this week’s Family Circle Cup in Charleston, Jelena — as the third seed — beat Paszek and Scheepers and is now playing the quarterfinals against McHale. The winner gets to play top seed Wozniacki in the semis. On the other side of the draw, Peng plays the winner of Goerges/Vesnina. See how all the ladies are faring here.

We’d hit and wear that: Sure there’s tennis ball furniture, but how about some accessories, too? Simone Preuss of 1-800-recycling.com reveals some “creative uses” for worn-out tennis balls. Preuss writes, “Tennis balls are probably the most difficult of any kind of sports ball to recycle, as the rubber used is not biodegradable. However, about 300 million balls are produced each year, contributing to some 20,000 metric tons of rubber waste.”
Never quite imagined that more could be done than simply tossing those dead balls after an intense hitting sesh, did ya? Well, from bracelets (above) to jar holders to tripods and purses look no further than this post for ideas to glamify your world with a little more tennis love. The only problem, Simone, where’s the how-to guide to make these ballin’ beauties ourselves? Needing it.
We get hashtag fatigue sometimes, too: Looking to check up on the tweets of even more players than usual suspect Serena Williams (who BTW now has over 2 millions followers)? Check out Tennis Players on Twitter. The new website allows fans to check in on all players at all times – in real time! Links go directly to players official pages, just in case you want to further investigate on Twitter itself. Really, this is cool. Oops: #reallythisiscool.
Big game, but how about Playboy fame? Caroline Wozniacki apparently denied Playboy and Maxim, which both wanted the Dane to grace their pages naked, according to a report from Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet. She told reporters, “I’m not going to take off all my clothes,” while agent John Tobias continued, “She is still only 20 years [old]. That kind of photo series we’ll keep away from right now.” For more, click here.
Take us with you, BMS?
So maybe her attire is a little outrageous, but that’s why we love you, Bethanie. Well, girl can write, too.
Top 10-er, still: Besides fashion sense, American tennis in general seems to be on a bit of a decline up top with Serena Williams being the only top-ten ranked player after the latest rankings were revealed. Somehow, Serena managed to move up a couple spots despite having not played for months. Go figure. Then again with Serena, it’s better to stop trying and just roll with whatever story she headlines next, especially when it deals with the WTA ranking system.

“A 7-iron, please” On the day before The Masters, the two “sissy” sports – tennis and golf – crossed paths in the most unusual of ways. There was Andy Roddick, tennis superstar, as a caddy for a Par 3 tune-up at Augusta National. Roddick carried the clubs for Zach Johnson after he has expressed interest in swinging through The Masters to his agent. His thoughts on Augusta? “Places rarely live up to the hype. This place surpasses it.” Perhaps Roddick would like to skip the clay court season altogether and stay on the grass.
Would you like Roddick to caddy for you? Another player? Tell us!

We here at TSF West are keeping our fingers crossed for brisk Southern California fall; otherwise it’ll be hard to pull of these layered Balmain looks in our version of cold (i.e., 50 degrees). And yes, we know: those pants have super-dropped crotches. Bring it. (Browse: Balmain Men’s Fall 2011)
Le sigh: Balmain’s creative director, Christophe Decarnin is leaving the brand after five years at the helm. A successor has yet to be appointed.

Almost reminiscent of Maria Sharapova’s blue/orange Nike dress from Miami four years ago, top seed Caro Wozniacki debuted another combo from her adidas by Stella McCartney trunk of wonders. For the Family Circle Cup, being contested this week in Charleston, S.C., she paired an “infrared” (orange) sleeveless tank with a pleated skirt. Note the same orange tone on her shoes. (The Stella line shoe is Eileithyia, but Caro’s wearing Barricades, yes?) Ruching on the tank aside, we’re not really all that impressed with this combo. Can’t wait to see which dresses will end up at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. (What do you think of Caro’s Charleston outfit? Love it? Hate it? Don’t care? Tell us!)
Draw: Wozniacki made quick work of American Irina Falconi, beating her 6-1, 6-1. (Draw: Family Circle Cup)
