Consider TSF among the most disappointed of the bunch when Maria Sharapova announced withdrawing from this week’s Porsche Grand Prix in Stuttgart because of her nagging shoulder injury.
And its not just because we wanted to see a display of her tenacity; we also wanted to see her new post-U.S. Open Nike outfit.
The pink Sharapova Drop Shot Double Layer Dress features a front patch pocket and a cable screenprint down the back. (I darkened the picture on the right to show this detail.) The inner heathered layer has a Swoosh on the chest.
What do you think of the dress? Tell us!
So while she skipped Stuttgart, Masha’s due for an appearance at next week’s Kremlin Cup. Of course, this could be another chapter of “Girl who cried ‘I’m healthy to play'” — we won’t know until she actually shows up in Moscow for her first match. FYI, she received a wildcard after the withdrawal of a seemingly healthy Justine Henin. We have our fingers crossed for her health.
There are other pretty cute pieces in the women’s collection. Take a look.
The Drop Shot Double Layer Tank, $65; plus the Control Skort, $60.
The Drop Shot Cable Top features a cable design, cap sleeves, and drawstrings at the sides; $55.
The Cable Sweater, $150.
Seamless Control Flushing Tank (with detail in the built-in sports bra), $55.
And I like these two pieces from the Heritage collection (the men’s goods are here).
Heritage Knee Shorts in Stealth Grey, with the Winter Heritage pink plaid detail on the cuff and a striped rib waistband; $50.
Heritage Jacket, also in Stealth Grey, with its cute gathered fabric across the chest; $60

I really like this collection! Ten times better than anything Maria has actually worn on the court. I was not impressed by her U.S. Open dresses at all.

unfortunately nike gave bartoli the drop shot dress and it was the worst possible choice for her (except the colour)
i don’t think the dress would have suited shara either

OMG b is right – Bartoli wore that dress! Which really shocks me, I wouldn’t have recognized it on her. When I saw it on here I thought “what a cute dress”, but Bartoli just looked like an overweight duck in it…
I also really like the rest of the collection, esp. the Drop Shot Double Layer Tank.
