just for the record…

January 4, 2008

One of the things that made me chuckle recently: Pete Sampras‘ chest gets its very own listing in our readers’ “who’s hot” survey. I have to admit I agree. (Remember that “Got Milk?” ad?)

If we asked Dick Enberg for his list of hot tennis body parts, I’m sure it’ll include R-Fed‘s toned

shirtless nole: how long from sideshow to no-show?

January 4, 2008

Novak Djokovic had to call for the trainer during his 6-2, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4) win against Mardy Fish in the Hopman Cup finals. The season hasn’t even started (the HC’s an exo) and already the trainer’s working on his back.

Enjoy his shirtless show while it lasts, folks. Who knows how much more we’ll see of it? At the rate he’s going, he’ll be retiring from the sport at the end of the season! (I hope he recovers in time to defend his Miami title…)

Score: While Nole might have won his men’s singles match, Team Serbia fell to the U.S. in the finals, with Serena notching her singles win in a walkover (due to Jelena Jankovic‘s upper thigh injury) and the Americans winning 7-6 (4), 6-2 in the mixed doubles match. Congrats.

fashion focus: another buff from arnaud clement

January 4, 2008

Frenchman Arnaud Clement‘s trademark look gets another log in our bandana book at this week’s Hopman Cup. Here he is playing the men’s singles match against team Taiwan.

Lovin’ the thin yellow bracelet, and for those wondering about the honeycomb kicks, they’re from Lacoste‘s Repel line.

FYI: His team (with partner Tatiana Golovin) placed second in their respective group. They did not make it to the finals. No trophy, but they at least got to attend a kick-ass party.
