for ana ivanovic, a new adidas color for the spring

March 3, 2008

Ana Ivanovic is probably still off-kilter from the injury she sustained at the Qatar Total Open a few weeks ago. She had to pull out of that tourney and lost the subsequent week in the semis of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships to eventual champion Dementieva.

On a bright note, she has debuted a new spring version of her cute adidas Edge dress. It was about time! She has been wearing a blue version of the outfit since the Year-End Championships; meanwhile the other glam girls have had multiple costume changes since then.

By the way, the official name of this coral pink color is Neo Red. Look for the items to drop in the next few weeks (coinciding with the North American spring hardcourt season).

What do you think of the new shade? Tell us!

props to the PBZ zagreb indoors website

March 3, 2008

In case you missed it, the tourney website for the PBZ Zagreb Indoors is simple, pretty, easy to use, and innovative. It might not have all the bells and whistles of a major tourney website (e.g., video streaming, live scoreboards, etc.), but it has some gems — like suggesting visitors to look for the tournament venues on Google Earth. And it’s not disastrous like Doha‘s. At this point, anything is better than Doha‘s.

But most fun is the use of the ATP’s “Feel It” campaign into the website. The animal paired with Mario Ancic — some great whites — feature prominently in the landing page.

trophy watch: acapulco, dubai, memphis, zagreb

With the top guns primping for their ATP stop in Dubai next week, here were the others who stepped up.

Nicolas Almagro downed David Nalbandian 6-1, 7-6 (1) in the finals of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel. Almagro already has the Brasil Open’s 2008 trophy on his mantle. (See the rest of the trophies after the cut…)
