The Fila-clad Janko Tipsarevic shook up the men’s draw by beating Andy Roddick in the second round 6-7 (5) 7-5 6-4 7-6 (4), thus denying the American a third round berth for the first time in his eight years participating at The Championships.

Hooray for Tipso you legend!! I just couldn’t take him seriously with those sunglasses though!

How can Roddick getting beat ever be an upset? What has he done to warrent being a sixth seed at Wimbledon? Is men’s tennis so watered down that this stiff is considered a star? He is still basking in the glory of his fluke US Open title in 2003. What have you done for me lately?

  4. Mariam Says:

    Janko, u’re THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Jon Says:

Myrtle, A-Rod is a two-time Wimbledon finalist (to Fed). He’s RANKED No. 6 in the world. If anything, he should’ve been seeded No. 5 (or even 4) ahead of Ferrer and maybe Davydenko. But this dismal result shows otherwise, true. Still, lest we soon forget, Janko took Fed to 5 sets in Australia. Roger lucked out then.

Hey, I thought Janko’s hair looked OK!
But looking at the photo for this entry, it does gives off George Michael vibes :/
Hope he defies Erwin’s prediction and beats Tursunov.

  9. Doris Says:

Oops, I mean, “…beats Tursonov to go into week 2”

Hooray for Tipsy! I actually think that he looks good with long hair, he has nice tresses. But, hey, I’d like him no matter what haircut he has. He’s dreamy and -I agree with Doris- hopefully he’ll continue to make people swoon (including me!) well into the 2nd keek at Wimby. Gooo Janko!!
