ode to america

In this summer’s US Open Series, the women and men of the pro tennis tours have done their best to sport some red, white and blue in honor of America’s lead up to the grand daddy in New York City later this month.

Simple as usual, world number one Dinara Safina has sported this red adidas top with a bleach-white skirt all summer. Perhaps she’s hoping the consistent attire will help consistent results?

The always-sensual Gael Monfils sported bright blue and white in Montreal, complete with wristbands on each wrist to match.

More American-inspired fashion after the cut.

Jie Zheng dons the same ANTA dress that we’ve seen Jelena Jankovic wearing this summer, but the Chinese woman just can’t quite pull it off the way Janky does. We love the baby blue color, but the ruffles just aren’t Jie’s jive.

Wayne Odesnik paying hommage to the bandana in Indianapolis earlier this summer. Love the gesture, Wayne… but we’re not quite sure you can do these two blues together, baby.

Timeless sex symbol Juan Carlos Ferrero makes Lotto shine the way Andy Roddick makes Lacoste dull. This form-fitting bright red top is complimented by JCF’s always-stylish headband. Kudos Juan.

Robert Kendrick went all out in DC at the Legg Mason, sporting red, white AND blue. We’re just not sure if this is working for him. Thoughts?

Sam Querrey’s sexy cheering section, “The Samurai“, in LA. These shirtless boys cheered the American on to the title.

I love that new aqua on Gael’s shorts. Nike has used it on a lot of the current outfits including Roger’s warm up jacket which I am coveting and sadly not owning.

Absosmurphly agree on The Little Mosquito and Andy comment. Why in the world doesn’t Andy think he can wear a color? Boring!!
