for tomic the teen, a bubblegum shirt

January 25, 2010

Local fave Bernard Tomic gave the Aussies a great performance during his second round loss to Marin Cilic at the 2010 Australian Open. The score: 7-6 (6), 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, 4-6.

The 14th-seeded Cilic’s still in, scheduled to face Andy Roddick in the quarters after fending off Stan Wawrinka and upsetting Juan Martin Del Potro in the fourth round. (That last one was a five-setter, too!)

Draw: See how the men’s draw is filling out here.

We’re all about the multi-color version of Nike‘s Rush and Crush shirt — that’s the one Nadal‘s wearing in orange — with its whimsical colors that complement the bright blues of the Melbourne Park courts.

Buy: Nike Rush and Crush Crew in white (sold out) and orange blaze, $60, nike.com.

More pics: See a few more looks at Tomic’s tee (plus what he wear to Kooyong) after the cut…

a whole lotto yellow

January 25, 2010

Kudos to Francesca Schiavone for taking these flirty white and yellow Lotto pieces all the way to the fourth round of the 2010 Australian Open (with an upset of 10th seed Agnieszka Radwanska along the way). The Italian and 17th seed even took a set from Venus Williams before losing.

But I’m not gonna lie: I’m curious to see how this dress would look on someone with more, uhm, boobs.

More: Note the frills on the skirt and the sheer material used as accent pieces. See pics after the cut…

hewitt goes down in style

We’re still not sure where all this Lleyton love is coming from, but we’re going with it: look at his shoes from last night’s fourth round Australian Open match against Roger Federer. Cute, no? Too bad he lost in straight sets against the tourney’s top seed.

Draw: Up next for Roger is Nikolay Davydenko. And while the Russian’s had his number as of late (with wins against him and Nadal at London and Doha), R-Fed can breathe a little easier after it took Kolya five sets to take out Fernando Verdasco in their fourth-rounder. (Draw: Men’s singles.)
