Remember this scenario? A young, unknown teen upsets a seed in the 2nd round of the US Open and is set to play Maria Sharapova in the third. Yep, that’s pretty much how things played out last year for Melanie Oudin, and now Beatrice Capra, an 18-year-old from Maryland finds herself in a similar situation after beating 18th-seed Aravane Rezai 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 on the Grandstand Court Thursday.
Capra got a nod from Yahoo! in their trending box (above, right), landing at number three Friday morning.
