(OT) <3: gucci spring 2010

July 6, 2010

While no one can possibly think about layering in this sweltering heat, we’re still gonna show you what we liked from Gucci‘s Spring 2010 runway shows. Click on the images above to see the slideshows from style.com.

Posts about the men’s stuff from Paris (plus this week’s couture) coming soon!

One day, these Native American-inspired shoes from Gucci’s Spring 2009 footwear collection will be worn by Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon.

Nole in Gucci for GQ

April 22, 2008

Even GQ, the scrawny brother of Men’s Vogue, gets in on Nole mania (Anna, Jay — move aside!) with their May issue. A four-page spread features current tennis and (soon-to-be) fashion darling Novak Djokovic.

Again, the usual bio (impersonations blah blah blah family pizzeria blah blah blah Australian Open) but this time coupled with the Frida Giannini-designed Spring 2008 collection from Gucci.

The jewelry’s a nice touch.

serena williams - gucci - zurich

Even with her early exit at this week’s Zurich Open, it wasn’t lost on TSF that Serena Williams walked onto the court with a Gucci shoulder bag. (She clearly can’t part with the thing; it even made a cameo at the press conference.)

And kudos to Serena for yet another new hair accessory to match her winter Nike outfit. This time, the swoosh bandana came out in burgundy. At last week’s Kremlin Cup, it was stealth grey.

Bjorn Borg s/s ’07 picks: My faves from the most recent Bjorn Borg collection… Top row (left to right): the Joppe tank, the Slip-On shoe, Luka tee; bottom row: Rustan jacket, Samuel scarf, and Custom bag. Scope out all the goods here.

Bec Hewitt branches out: The stylish wife of Aussie Lleyton Hewitt (and mother to their lovely daughter Mia) takes a stab at children’s fashion by launching her own line, called Bec Kidz. She’ll collaborate with designer Bruno Schiavi on the designs. (Herald Sun via DTL)

Vintage Gucci: Cut out the middleman and get your hands on an old school Gucci tennis bag on eBay. (Racqonteur)

adidas by Stella McCartney: Amid the frenzy of putting together an event to close out London’s next fashion week, Stella McCartney has also released the latest collection for adidas by Stella McCartney. The f/w ’07 colors are Bronco (a pink/brown shade), Dark Bronco, White, and Electricity (lime green).

Picks: I especially love the Track Top (top row, middle), which is basically a crop warm-up; and the Tank (bottom, middle), with it’s “delicate” double-strap detail. Of course, double strap means that it’s going for a layered look without the actual layers…

The Gym Dance collection, another adidas by Stella McCartney line, will make its way to the public soon. Check out High Snobiety’s preview here. (via DTL)

31 Corn Lane - Billie Jean King - Gucci

I’m not in love with this Billie Jean King- and Gucci-inspired collection by 31 Corn Lane as the gal over at fashioninc, but A for effort. Love the sunglasses case.
